Neivedyam : Black Sesame Kozhukattai, Black Sundal ,Jaggery Kozhukattai, Ulundhu Vadai ,Avaal Payasam , Pori ,Odachakadalai , Banana , Sugarcane ,Corn Cob, Perapa pazham,Naval Pazham,betal leaves,kotta pakku,and Coconut ,Avarakai Sambar,Potatoe Varuval,White Rice ,Ghee.
Serve in Banana Leaf .
Ritual : Buy 1 feet clay Ganesha without colour . It must have eyes given as red seed in the market.
Do poojai ,and abhishekam for house pillayar and the clay ganesha together.Use milk,curd , gold jewels, honey , fruit mixture, rose water for doing Abhishekam to the Ganesha Idols.
Keep Gold/ Silver coin on Ganesha Thoppai ( Stomach ) after abhishekam .
Put New Angaavastram ( Dress)and Umbrella for Ganesha .
Flowers : Eerukam poo , Arugampul grass and Samandhi flowers ,Pavazha malli.
Other things needed for poojai are:
Agarbathi,Camphor, Sambrani, Sandal Powder,Turmeric powder, Kukumam ,sesame lamp oil with Silver Kamakshi lamp and wick
Use Pooja thirtham in Panchapathiram with tulasi leaves, along silver plate,silver bell, all in a Silver dhoopam plate.Also keep dry fruits in a silver cup and Aval Payasam in Silver tumbler.
Place Ganesha on a wooden manai with kolam drawn on it.Tie Fresh Green Mango leaves as thoranam in the entrance door of your house early in the morning before you start the poojai. Put colourful rangoli at the entrance door with two clay diyas at the entrance all before poojai starts.
Play vinayagar bhakthi songs as Audio music.Recite Ganesha Pancharathinam and pillayar slokams during and after poojai .You can also keep new bill book and receipt book to start as new year account.
You can immerse the Clay Ganesha the first ,third or fifth night only. Serve banana with pakku amd betal leaves asneivedyam to Ganesha. Show Karpooram and finish the visarjan.Place Ganesha on a bucket of water or drop him in the house well.
